Meet the California Executive Director
Krystal Adkins joined BIAA-CA as Executive Director in July 2026. She leads statewide efforts to expand resources and support, strengthen partnerships and community, advance advocacy, and enhance professional education and training for people affected by brain injury throughout California.

Meet the Information and Resource Specialist
Heather Matty has served as an Information and Resource Specialist for the past five years. She helps people with brain injury and their caregivers find information, resources, and educational materials through the National Brain Injury Information Center.
She also contributes to brain injury research, programs, and advocacy committees—all with the goal of helping people and caregivers navigate the brain injury journey.
