For nearly five decades, Dr. Gregory J. O’Shanick has dedicated his career to brain injury medicine, research, leadership, and the quality of life of people affected by brain injury.
His work has helped shape the field. His leadership has strengthened the professional community. And his commitment has extended well beyond his medical practice.
For 16 years, Dr. O’Shanick served as BIAA’s inaugural National Medical Director. He was later named Medical Director Emeritus.
He was also a founding Board Governor of the Academy for Certified Brain Injury Specialists and served on the inaugural examination committee for the subspecialty of brain injury medicine overseen by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
But Luminary of the Year is about more than a list of accomplishments.
It is about recognizing what happens when someone chooses, year after year, to make a difference.
