Application Process

Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainers (CBISTs) are approved to provide official ACBIS training. CBISTs demonstrate advanced skills in the field of brain injury and maintain their skills through continuing education.

Applications are valid for one year. Reapply if the full process (approval, testing, and any retesting) isn’t completed within that time.

What applicants need to complete the application:

  • Resume/CV
  • The CBIST Employment Verification is completed by a qualified verifier
  • Supporting documentation of professional skills
  • Bachelor’s degree diploma or college transcript

Application Instructions

Step One: Log in and proceed to the Catalog to purchase the CBIST Application.

Step Two: After purchasing, complete all CBIST Application steps:

  • CBIST Application
  • Upload Employment Verification Form
  • Automated Proctoring Technology Pre-Check
  • Upload Supporting Documentation and Diploma
  • Application Submission Confirmation

Step Three: Once the application is approved, an email with a unique link to access the CBIST Examination will be sent.

Step Four: The certification will be issued upon passing the examination and completing the CBIST Train-the-Trainer webinar.
