Defining Moments in Brain Injury Conference
The Brain Injury Association of America, Maine Chapter hosts the Defining Moments in Brain Injury conference every year.
The Defining Moments in Brain Injury Conference is the annual conference of the Brain Injury Association, Maine Chapter. This event is held each Fall and includes sessions for survivors, family caregivers, and professionals working in the field.
We are now accepting proposals to speak at the conference. Click here to submit a proposal. The deadline is April 20, 2026.
Conference Date and Location
The 2026 conference is scheduled for September 22 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Portland, Maine.

- Keynote Address
- Beverley Bryant Memorial Lecture by a survivor from Maine
- Breakout sessions for survivors, family caregivers, and professionals
- Continuing education credits
- Exhibits from leading organizations serving the brain injury community
Registration
Early bird registration is available through August 21, 2026. Brain injury survivors, family members, and students can register at the early-bird rate of $60, and professionals at a rate of $199. After the early-bird registration deadline, registration fees will increase to $75 for survivors, family members, and students, and to $249 for professionals.
Scholarships
We will have scholarships available for brain injury survivors and family members to attend the conference for $20 per person. To apply for a scholarship, click here. The deadline for applications is August 14, 2026 (unless we run out of funding before that date).
