Meet Our 2026 Delaware Luminary Honoree

Matt Denn is a lifelong public servant whose work has been distinguished by dedication to vulnerable Delawareans, including children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Matt has a storied career of service to overlooked children and families, including government and philanthropic roles. As co-founder and vice chair of Action for Delaware’s Children, Matt fights to remove lead paint from the homes of poisoned children, a cause of brain injury that disproportionately affects children living in low-income homes. Matt served as the 25th Lieutenant Governor of Delaware from 2009 to 2015, and the 45th Attorney General of Delaware from 2015 until 2019. He previously served as Delaware’s Insurance Commissioner from 2005 to 2009, where he focused on consumer protection and fairness in access to coverage. Matt has built a career defined not only by leadership but by a steadfast belief in equity for all. His work has had a lasting impact on the lives of Delawareans- particularly those too often unheard- making him a fitting honoree as Luminary of the Year.

Event Details

The 2026 Delaware Luminary of the Year event will take place on Thursday, October 29, at the Executive Banquet and Conference Center in Newark, Delaware. The event will begin with a cocktail reception, followed by a dinner, the event program, a live auction, and a fund the mission moment, and will finish with a dessert reception. More information on the event will become available in the coming months.
