Your Gifts at Work
Thank you for contributing to the Brain Injury Association of America! Here's what your gifts have helped to accomplish.
If you’re wondering whether you made an impact in somebody’s life this year, we’d like to assure you that you have! These are just a few ways your support of the Brain Injury Association of America has made a difference during the first quarter of 2024.
Brain Injury Research Grants
BIAA awarded five grants for 2024 totaling nearly $85,000 that will go towards brain injury research. The program is grounded in the understanding that for some people, brain injury evolves into a chronic health condition that can cause or accelerate multiple diseases. Awareness Day on Capitol Hill
More than 250 people from 37 states came together prepared with resources provided by BIAA to meet with their legislators and advocate for the reauthorization of the Traumatic Brain Injury Act. One participant summarized their experience, “I’m doing things I never thought I would get to do. I’m here because of BIAA. BIAA really helped me to become an advocate, to know that I can use my voice, that I can use my story to make a difference.” – Carole
