Speech, language, and cognition can be impaired following damage to the brain. The injury can be sudden, such as a traumatic brain injury or a stroke, or gradual, such as Parkinson’s disease or dementia. Either way, the resulting breakdowns in communication are real and frustrating for the individuals and the people closest to them. Possible changes in speech, language, and cognitive communication, ways to identify breakdowns, and communication strategies to will be shared by an experienced speech-language pathologist during this one-hour webinar.
