Brain Injury from Blast Exposure in Military Populations
June 4, 2025
Military service members may be exposed to both low-level repetitive blasts from weapons training and combat as well as high-level blasts from IEDs and other large explosives. While some blast exposures result in a traumatic brain injury specifically, head injuries secondary to low-level repetitive blast exposures may not be as obvious, but can be associated with poorer long-term outcomes including increased psychological symptoms, cognitive concerns, sleep changes, and reduced overall quality of life. In this clinical webinar, Molly Sullan, Ph.D., will summarize current research on blast-related brain injuries for military Service Members and clinical implications of research findings to date.
