Categories: Caregiver Webinars

Join Cindy B. Ivanhoe, M.D., for a discussion of spasticity after brain injury for family caregivers and people living with brain injury. She reviews how spasticity presents, why we treat it, and how it limits potential and current treatment approaches.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe spasticity symptomology after brain injury.
  • Explain concepts that dictate why and how spasticity is treated.
  • Discuss combination treatments for spasticity, including toxin injections, intrathecal baclofen, and surgical concepts.

She is a clinical professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at McGovern School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
