House Passes Resolution on the Administration’s Medicaid Guidance
Rep. Marc Veasey (D-Texas) introduced “Expressing disapproval of the Trump administration’s harmful actions towards Medicaid,” H. R. 826, which allows states to cap their Medicaid funding through a block grant. The House passed the resolution yesterday. Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-N.J.) issued the following statement, “Today, we sent a clear message to the Trump Administration: Congress will not tolerate illegal attempts to take away Americans’ health care by cutting Medicaid. The administration’s block grant proposal would have devastating consequences on the health and well-being of millions of Americans struggling to make ends meet, including those affected by the opioid epidemic.”
