Erica Bates M.S., CCC-SLP, CBIST has over 15 years of experience in the field of brain injury, working in a variety of settings. Currently serving as the President of Minds Matter, a leading provider of home and community-based brain injury rehabilitation services, Erica is dedicated to ensuring that individuals receive the support they need to thrive. She has trained numerous individuals to obtain their CBIST, furthering their professional development in the field. Additionally, she has presented nationally and internationally on a variety of topics related to brain injury.

Erica actively volunteers on the professional conference planning committee for the Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City. As the co-chair for the Kansas Brain Injury Advisory Group, she plays a pivotal role in shaping initiatives and policies.

Driven by a genuine desire to promote equal opportunities and choice for individuals with brain injuries, Erica is currently pursuing a PhD in the Therapeutic Science program at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Her research focuses on community-based brain injury waivers, program evaluation, and scale development, with the aim of improving the lives of those affected by brain injuries.
