The word that so inspires me in my injury is positivity.
I do not remember my severe traumatic brain injury. I woke from a two week coma my son and my sister were by my side making sure my doctors were taking care of everything that needed to be taken care of. I was told by family and friends that I had fallen 7 or 8 steps backwards I do not have any clue how that happened I was visiting a friend at the time and they called the ambulance because I was unresponsive at the time of my accident.
I am 64years old and had a wonderful job as a CNA/CMA helping elderly and disabled children and adults I loved my work and with time and healing that is one goal I have made with myself to be able to do that sort of rewarding work again in my future. I can no longer drive because of my left frontal temporal lobe damage but again That also is one of my goals to be able to drive again.
This injury has sent me down another unexpected path to my future it will never be the same life I lived before my injury but I keep my positive spirits so keep looking at positive things you have and more to come in the future because of this injury I have seen positive things in my past but also I believe I need to keep focused on the positivity that is going to come to me after all my tears and grieving through this injury there is hope out there. Is all I can say is hang in there and keep those positive thoughts in your mind because there is definitely hope out there for you and me to overcome and make days positive for you.
