I’m 33 years old, divorced, and a dad to two little girls. Three years ago, my life completely changed after a major car accident left me with a traumatic brain injury, broken bones, and doctors unsure if I’d ever fully recover. I spent weeks in a coma and months in the hospital learning how to walk and function again.

What people don’t really see is what happens after everyone thinks you’re ‘better.’ The loneliness, rebuilding your identity, losing relationships, struggling mentally, and trying to become someone your kids can still look up to.

Over the last year, I decided to completely change my life. I got sober, committed myself to recovery, and found healing through fitness, routine, and surrounding myself with positive people. Now I spend most of my time documenting my recovery journey, motivating others through consistency, and showing that even after your life falls apart, you can still rebuild it into something meaningful.

I’d love to share my story because I think a lot of people feel stuck, ashamed, or like they’re too far gone to change — and I want people to know redemption and growth are actually possible.

Every brain injury is different, yet there are lessons we can learn from the experiences of others. No matter whether you are an individual with a brain injury, a family member, caregiver, or clinician, your story is important.
