A Special Message from Amy Grant on National Concussion Awareness Day
September 19, 2025
Amy Grant is many things: a Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter, a New York Times best-selling author, a Kennedy Center honoree.
She’s also a brain injury survivor.
“Three years ago, a bike accident changed my life,” Grant says. “I learned firsthand that recovery from a brain injury does not happen all at once. It’s a journey.”
In honor of National Concussion Awareness Day, Grant has partnered with the Brain Injury Association of America to spread the message that a concussion is a brain injury – a fact that 81 percent of Americans aren’t aware of.
“Every nine seconds, someone in the U.S. sustains a brain injury. A lot of times, it goes unseen or unsupported. But we can change that,” Grant says.
