In 1999, I sustained a brain injury in a car accident. Even though my injury was classified as “mild”, it left me with ongoing symptoms that ended my career as an educator. With time, strategies and lots of help, I’ve reinvented myself. I’m now a national keynote speaker, the author of the book To Root & To Rise: Accepting Brain Injury, and the founder and facilitator of the award-winning survivor volunteer group Brain Injury Voices. I still can’t hold a job, but I have found my calling.
I’ve been giving keynotes at conferences and events since 2009. My speeches are relevant for professionals, brain injury survivors and caregivers. Videos are on my website at https://starrspeakerauthor.com/
