My road to recovery
Hi, my name is Reagan, i’m a junior and i attend Breaux Bridge High School in Breaux Bridge Louisiana, and this is my story. Freshman year , i made the cheer team , which was always my dream. I was a flyer, not to brag, but i was pretty good at cheer. My sophomore year me and my team were stunting in the gym, and i went into a stunt and fell, my team mates didn’t catch me, i hit my head on the gym floor from 10 ft up. i lost my vision in my left eye 2 weeks later , my mom works at a hospital and thought maybe i should go in, so i did, the doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me, so they thought i had MS, so they did a Lumbar Puncter and my pressure was 24, so they ruled that out, finally they said you have a sever concussion, so my mom contacted a man she heard of from a friend of a friend , his name is Dr.Kelley Ryder, he is located in Baton Rouge Louisiana and he is my hero, he specailizes in concussions and knew what i needed to get better, he started me on 90 minutes Hyperbaric treatments, i did 25 until he finally realesed me to go back to cheer, i was finally done traveling 1 hour at 5 every morning with my mom, i felt like me again, a couple months again back in October i was assulted at my school, i was in the lunch line and some football players cut the line, my autistic friend got very upset so he told them “you can’t cut” they of course didn’t care , they started picking on him and teasing him, so one boy tried to cut in front of him, and he put his arms out and told him “you can’t cut “ the football player then pushed my autistic friend and i stepped up and told him “ just leave him alone” he then punched me in my face multiple times and my autistic friend, no one helped me everyone watched me bleeding from my nose and mouth on the floor i picked myself up and got out the cafeteria l, don’t remember what happen that day but i remember waking up in ICU not remembering the past three months of my life, i didn’t know why i was in the hospital.
