This presentation will introduce participants to basic brain anatomy and function and explain how the brain is injured due to trauma.  Participants will review brain injury statistics, and risk factors, and understand why TBI is a serious public health problem.  The consequences of brain injury will be examined and the importance of comprehensive, multidisciplinary rehabilitation to restore function will be discussed.
