Chris Wagnaar

February 24, 2012

Hi my name is Chris Wagnaar, and my experience with a brain injury can be very inspirational. When I was 19 in 2005, I was involved in a car wreck which I received a brain injury. I got the injury from getting drunk and rolling my SUV popping the door open, which ejected me into a tree. I got pretty messed up, even having a time where I had to wear diapers in the hospital. I have had an amazing recovery and has made my faith in God grow that much stronger. Currently I am unloading trucks part time for Lowes and collecting disability. I couldn’t have done it without God by my side. The most important thing is creating a respect, belief, and faith in God. I am wanting to become a preacher to spread the good word. After a TBI, you will hear some horrible predictions but with those you gotta just use as fuel to inspire you to overcome your situation. I suffered great depression and even attempted suicide several times but that was not in God’s plan. Your gonna get down afterwards but you need to reach deep for the strength to carry on and it may look like it’s never gonna get better. Just keep faith that God loves you and instead of turning your back to him, he is what you need so run towards him.
