SUMMARY:First Consensus Statement on TBI in First Responders
DESCRIPTION:Traumatic brain injury (TBI)\, including concussion\, is a common yet underrecognized occupational hazard among first responders\, including law enforcement officers\, firefighters\, and emergency medical services personnel. This webinar presents the first international interdisciplinary consensus recommendations for recognizing\, diagnosing\, managing\, and supporting return to duty after TBI in first responders. Participants will learn how these evidence-informed recommendations address unique occupational challenges—including reporting barriers\, safety-sensitive job demands\, and return-to-duty decision making—and how healthcare providers\, brain injury professionals\, researchers\, and agencies can work together to improve outcomes and occupational readiness.
